KRAKOW To Enter Studio In February

October 25, 2008

Norwegian stoner metal band KRAKOW will maintain a tour blog on its upcoming European tour as the support act for ENSLAVED. The tour will launch November 6 and include 39 shows, before wrapping on December 20.

Formed in 2005, KRAKOW released an EP in 2008 titled "Dusty Roads" and embarked on its first tour last fall. The band kicked off 2008 by playing the Psycho Holiday festival the first weekend of January, before concentrating on developing new material. In May they headlined the Molde Metalfestival, and in September KRAKOW played at Southern Discomfort Metal Festival which was headlined by ENSLAVED.

KRAKOW will enter the studio in February 2009 to begin recording its debut album, with producer Iver Sandoy (MANNGARD). The CD will be executive-produced by Ivar Peersen (Peersen Productions, ENSLAVED),who said about working on the album: "First time I heard KRAKOW, I thought this is a band that's going somewhere! Their choice to go with stoner/classic metal/hard rock might not be ground-breaking in itself; it is how they do it — how they mix it up with elements from all ranges of the wondrous world of metal: the melodic, the extreme, the heavy, the powerful and the psychedelic foundations are all there. When they asked me to produce their debut album I immediately jumped on the chance to be a part of this band’s evolution from the get-go!"
